As summer has officially come to a close (our oldest started kindergarten just a few weeks ago - crazy!), it has been such a blessing to look back and remember all the Lord has done thus far in 2024.
I’ve had the privilege of leading worship for a number of churches and events all over the country — from Florida to Kentucky, California to Missouri, and many places in between. I can tell firsthand, amidst a country and a culture that has grown evermore divided, the church is alive and the Lord is at work.
Callie and I just wrapped up another summer of camp ministry, and it was such a gift to see so many high school and middle school students dedicate their lives to follow Jesus. And an honor to encourage and disciple hundreds of college students as they’ve sought to grow in their faith and share the Gospel with the next generation. Again, the church is alive and the Lord is at work!
In addition to leading worship for a number of churches this fall, I have been writing a bunch of new worship songs in this season (got 20+ new ones that I just love!) that I can’t wait to record and begin sharing with you soon. My Dad and I are even dreaming through ways in which you can personally partner with Live the Word to help support the recording and release of these songs in the future!
With this month’s special emphasis on giving, I want to personally thank you for your financial support of Live the Word as it helps make our ministry possible. Your prayers and generosity allow our family to share the Gospel with literally millions of souls every month through our music, as well as build personal and purposeful relationships with churches and ministries all over the country.
And the icing on the cake — I get to team up and do it all with my Dad and his ministry of nearly 45 faithful years. Not many sons have the privilege of saying that.
Let’s continue to rise up together and declare that, because of Jesus, His church is alive and the Lord is at work!

Here is a photo of the fam from Grandparents’ Day … we enjoyed spending time with my grandpa, Dr. Tom Thompson (98y young & a retired pastor still sharing the Gospel). Clockwise beginning with Gramps, our daughter Chancey (3y) with her favorite, Aunt Katie (Nieder), Teri and John, Callie and me, Knox (6y).
